Business assignment

In one sentenceAssigning the employee to do temporary work outside the usual place of work, in another city or at a client's site, with the business bearing the travel and accommodation costs under its rules.

Simply put

When the business sends its accountant to a branch in another city for a week to close the accounts, this is a business assignment: he remains its employee with his contract and salary, but works temporarily somewhere else.

Write in the business's rules when an assignment counts as a business assignment, who approves it, and what the employee is paid in tickets, accommodation and a daily allowance.

Example

A contracting business assigned its supervisor for two weeks to a project site in another city. It paid his tickets and accommodation, and paid him a per diem allowance for each day according to its rules.

Don't confuse it with

Transfer of servicesA business assignment is a temporary task within the same business, while a transfer of services is the employee moving to another employer.
