Zakat certificate

In one sentenceA certificate ZATCA issues to a business after it files its return and pays the Zakat due; many parties require it in transactions and contracts.

Simply put

The certificate proves the business is compliant in filing its returns and paying its Zakat, and it has a validity period that is renewed after each return.

A late return means a late certificate, which may hold up contracts or payments with parties that require it.

Example

A contracting establishment bidding in a government tender was asked for a valid Zakat certificate, so it renewed it after filing last year's return and paying its Zakat.

Don't confuse it with

Zakat returnThe return is what the business submits, and the certificate is what it receives after filing and paying.
