Zakat objection

In one sentenceA request a business submits to ZATCA to reconsider a Zakat assessment it disagrees with, with its reasons and supporting documents, within the statutory period.

Simply put

An objection rests on documents: contracts, invoices, statements and notes to the financial statements that prove the item was treated correctly.

Watch the deadline stated in the assessment notice, as an objection after it has passed may not be accepted.

Example

ZATCA assessed a difference on an establishment because it did not accept the deduction of a long-term investment, so the establishment objected and attached the investment contract and proof of its term.

Don't confuse it with

Zakat assessmentThe assessment is ZATCA's decision, and the objection is the business's response to it.
