E-invoicing

In one sentenceIssuing and storing invoices and notes in a structured electronic format from a system that complies with ZATCA requirements, instead of paper or handwritten invoices.

Simply put

It is applied in two phases: the first phase (Generation) requires the invoice to be issued from an electronic system with specified fields and a QR code, and the second phase (Integration) connects the system to the FATOORA platform.

A handwritten invoice, or one edited in a word processor, is not an acceptable e-invoice.

Example

A spare parts store used to issue its invoices from a paper book. It adopted compliant accounting software that issues every invoice with a QR code in an electronic format that is stored and sent to ZATCA according to the phase.
