Automatic posting

In one sentenceCreating the accounting entry and posting it to the general ledger automatically when the invoice or voucher is saved, without the accountant writing it himself.

Simply put

With automatic posting the accounts are set once: the sales account, the VAT account and the cash account. Then every invoice saved creates its correct journal entry immediately.

It reduces errors and keeps reports up to date in real time, but a setup error repeats in every entry, so review the setup carefully at the start.

Worked example

A restaurant cashier saves a cash invoice of 1,150 SAR including VAT, and the system creates the journal entry automatically.

Dr Cash1,150
Cr Sales1,000
Cr Output VAT150
VAT from the VAT-inclusive amount1,150 × 15 ÷ 115 = 150
A balanced entry without the accountant stepping in1,150 SAR
