Excel data import

In one sentenceEntering a large amount of data into the system at once from an Excel file, such as items, customers and opening balances, instead of typing them record by record.

Simply put

When you move to a new system you have thousands of items and customers. Importing from Excel transfers them in minutes if you arrange the columns the way the system requires.

Before importing, clean the file: no duplicate codes, no empty cells in mandatory fields, and numbers stored as numbers, not text. And test on a small sample first.

Example

An auto parts store moving to a new system has 8,000 items in an Excel file, so it arranges the file with code, name, unit and price columns, imports 50 items as a test, then imports the rest after checking.

Don't confuse it with
