Employee key performance indicators (KPIs)

Employee Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

In one sentenceMeasurable figures that show how far the employee is achieving the targets of the job, such as sales, the returns rate or meeting closing deadlines.

Simply put

A good indicator is a specific figure with a target and a period: “sales of 150,000 a month” is clearer than “increase sales”.

Choose a few indicators that are really linked to the employee's work, take them from the system rather than estimates, then use them in performance appraisal and incentives.

Worked example

A store cashier sold 150,000 SAR during the month and recorded returns of 3,000 SAR.

Returns3,000
Sales150,000
Returns rate indicator: 3,000 ÷ 150,0002%

Formula: Returns rate = returns ÷ sales

Don't confuse it with

Performance appraisalAn indicator is a single figure that is tracked, while the appraisal is a periodic result that combines several indicators and criteria.
